web-based business performance monitoring

insideout together with its partner Knowledge Dimension offers a web based software solution aimed at assisting organisations to take their programmes and operational plans out of the drawer and electronically embed them into the organisation, in such a way that all activities and tasks are successfully aligned to the organisation’s programmes. All stakeholders are proactively informed of the progress via real time activity scorecards and KPI dashboards. Information in the system is kept in context with the relevant programmes.

curriculum development

insideout has developed a number of tailor-made training curriculum, materials and tools including:

  • South African Management Development Institute (SAMDI):
    • Developed and piloted the official Orientation to Monitoring and Evaluation course for roll out to thousands of government officials as part of the capacity development component of the Government Wide Monitoring and Evaluation System (GWMES).
    • Train the Trainer workshops for future M&E trainers in the public sector.
    • Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation for senior officials and parliamentarians, Strategic Management and Monitoring and Evaluation for senior managers.
  • Firelight Foundation:
    • Developed and piloted a course in Monitoring for Development and conducted the training in Malawi, Lesotho and Zambia.
    • Design a follow-up training workshop in Research Methods for Monitoring to assist organisations in developing appropriate and relevant monitoring tools to collect data.

As of June 2008 insideout has conducted M&E training for participants from a variety of African organisation including:

  • 57 non profit organisations
  • 12 funding organisations
  • 6 research institutions
  • 54 workshops for government departments reaching over a thousand public sector officials

In addition to conducting training in monitoring and evaluations, many evaluations have included a training or capacity building component in monitoring.
